What this deadline means
The window is a registration period, so the date that matters is the moment the filing system closes, not the moment a fee is agreed. A deal announced after the deadline can only be registered when the next window opens.
Premier League runs its own calendar. Nothing obliges England to align its dates with the other leagues in this reference, and the confirmed calendar proves the point: the five leagues close within a day of each other, but not at the same hour.
